Setbacks to Comebacks

Yep, this one's late. Because, well… I got a bit lost.

Sometimes, life brings things that even words have to wait their turn.

In February, we celebrated—our subscriber count had doubled in just a month. I remember writing about a strange feeling of unease even then. Like I knew something was coming.

March was a tough month for me, physically and mentally. Some days, you just have to live, so I couldn't write this. Maybe that's the best thing about this newsletter: it's not written by an algorithm or AI but by a real person.

But you’re still here. You’re reading it. You’re silently supporting it. And that means more than you thought.

This could be more than just a belated March letter. Perhaps it's a reminder of The Core's humanity.

And then the storm hit!

Rising costs, technical issues, and deliverability nightmares hit at once. In the middle of all this, I took another risk: I moved The Core to a new platform. It wasn't easy—sleepless nights, endless troubleshooting, and a lot of stress—but I knew it had to happen. This community deserves better.

When that dust settled, the world's ever-darkening news cycle hit me.

If you've been here since the early days, thank you. If you're newer (and there are a lot of you — hi!), here's a quick recap:

The Core was never meant just to summarize headlines. It's a human voice in an algorithmic world. It was born out of a need—mine and maybe yours. A daily note that helps you catch what actually matters — even when it's buried between the lines. It's curiosity-driven and designed to help you see the world more clearly in 5 minutes.

Eventually, this became more than a newsletter.

It became a fight for survival. But lately, it's been hard to keep it going.

As a dad who left behind a great life—and started from scratch in a city I fell in love with—I'm already juggling enough. It's hard not to feel crushed by the news cycle when it gets darker and darker. I'll admit it — there were nights I wrote this newsletter with no energy and a heavy heart.

But writing is my therapy.

And knowing you're out there, reading, replying, reacting… makes all the difference.

Sometimes it's just a one-line email, sometimes it's just a poll click... but you'd be surprised how much life that gave me. So please, keep writing back and keep reacting. I'm building a few easier ways for you.

So, what now?

Back to the roots.
Back to looking beyond the obvious.
No noise, no fluff. Just what matters.

You already know there are wars, tariffs, and chaos. The Core will keep focusing on what they mean, not just what they are—the shifts that change our lives, the moments that spark ideas, the stories that give you hope or make you think.

I'm not here to compete with media giants.
We'll stick to what makes us different — and we'll protect that space.

Soon, I'll launch new weekly editions—more value, depth, and maybe even some direct benefits for you. Thank you so much to everyone who supported me on Buy Me a Coffee. I'll keep working to make The Core sustainable and independent.

A transparency page is also coming soon — you'll see all the numbers, revenue (it's zero, even minus these days), and how we're growing. I'm also building a referral system that rewards you for helping us grow because this community belongs to all of us.

And finally…

When I sat down to write this, I felt pretty drained.
But now that it's done, I feel lighter.
Writing helps. Sharing helps. You help.

This letter makes up for March.
We'll check in again at the end of April to see what we've actually accomplished.

If you've made it this far, thank you. Truly.

And if this no longer feels like your thing, I totally get it if you unsubscribe.
But I hope our paths cross again.

You're here with all my gratitude.
